As I go through my Google Reader feeds this morning, I’m noticing that a lot of my favorite bloggers are setting goals for November. While I always intend to do this, I’m not so good at the whole goal-setting thing. Until today. I have decided to set a few goals for this November. Living along and working from home, I have found that I have a lot more time on my hands (no more commute, a lot of downtime to spend with myself), so I should be able to use that new-found time to achieve some goals that have been on my mind for awhile now.
November Goals
- Update my resume. I think that a resume should be a living document, not one that is only updated when looking for a new job. That being said, it’s time to add what I’ve been doing for the past (almost) two years to that dusty old document.
- Read five books. Now that I can actually attend book club monthly instead of being jealous that I’m missing it and the fact that I have a Kindle (thanks, Mom!), I have spent a lot of my free time reading. I’m averaging about a book each week, but because I have vacation in November for Thanksgiving, I think I can knock out five books.
- Start working out regularly again. This is one thing that I have not done very well since my move. In Charleston, I was going to barre class on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings pretty regularly, and I definitely miss it. I have a workout room here at my apartment, and I just need to take advantage of it. I just hate getting sweaty—then I have to redo my hair!
- Keep going with Season of Soup. Leah is definitely one of my favorite bloggers, and because soup is one of my favorite things to cook, I want to keep going with making a new soup each week. I have actually made a new soup recipe every week since mid-September, and eventually I will get around to blogging about it.
I guess we’ll see how this whole goal-setting things goes. I hope that I’ll be able to reflect back on them (with good results) on December 1. Anyone else setting goals for November?
