I like my hair squeaky but not too squeaky—maybe we should add some vinegar.
– Farrah Fawcett
When weighing in on the formula of her namesake brand of Faberge shampoo, even Farrah realized the power of vinegar. It cures all. Even bad hair days.

Day Zero Day 5 Update
lizdoesdayzero:
I am now on day 5 of my 1001 days (only 996 left to go!), and I have started to make some progress towards marking some things off the list. Here’s where I am:
# 46: Take the Infinite Summer Challenge:
I read the introduction a couple of days ago, but actually started reading last night. Finished the first chapter or so…up to page 17. So far, I am intrigued. The only...

Me: Oh yeah, I forgot.
Tony: I bet the cleaning people get the day off though.
Dear Jerk in the Piggly Wiggly parking lot,
I know that it was you who broke into my car and stole my CDs. The minute I laid eyes on you, I knew that you were a sketchball who was up to no good. From walking less than 1 mph in the middle of the street blocking traffic to being a creeper lurking around parked cars, there was nothing good about you. I should have trusted my instincts and left,...

12 Ways Women Have Replaced Men With Technology →
From: www.manolith.com
“There’s no denying the obvious: men have served a useful purpose in the evolutionary development of the human race. However, developments in science and technology are rapidly advancing, allowing women to slowly, but surely, replace the men in their lives. Are men destined to go the way of gills and the vestigial tail? Maybe not, but here are 12 ways in which men are...

Liz Does Day Zero →
I found the Day Zero Project when I came across this post by Mike when browsing Tumblr one day. I have a problem with procrastination and a long list of things that I would love to do, so I thought it would be a good thing for me to try. Setting goals has never been a strong suit for me, so maybe this will help me get some things accomplished.
I started a new blog, Liz Does Day Zero, to make my...
Lies I Tell Myself...
I’m going to keep telling myself that skinny iced caramel lattes taste better than iced caramel macchiatos until I believe it.
Infinite Options
Today, during my lunch break, I took a quick trip to Barnes and Noble to pick up David Foster Wallace’s book, Infinite Jest. (I am planning on participating in Infinite Summer, but that’s another subject itself.)
Anyway, I love bookstores and libraries and the book section at Target (the list could go on), but I always get an overwhelming sense of both excitement and sadness when...

One’s real life is often is so often the life that one does not lead.

Reasons I Love Today...
1. Finding an old Phish CD on my way to work this morning.
2. Hot, sunny (almost) summer day.
3. Iced caramel macchiato after work.
4. Really cool lightning storm—at least until it tripped the fire alarm, which wouldn’t stop for about 20 minutes. The good thing is I learned that it is impossible to sleep through the alarm. The bad thing is that no one on the third floor of my...

Downtown Charleston and Spoleto Fun
I have lived in Charleston for over two years now, and before this past Thursday, I had never been to a Spoleto event. Spoleto is a 17-day long festival that occurs every May/June, offering opera, music theatre, dance and special events. (OK, so the event we attended was part of Piccolo Spoleto, Spoleto’s sister festival, but it still counts.)
We saw the Upright Citizens Brigade Touring...
45 Life Lessons from a 90-year-old lady...
Written By Regina Brett, 90 years old, of The Plain Dealer, Cleveland, Ohio
My grandmother will be 90 years old on Monday. I am posting this as a tribute to her.
“To celebrate growing older, I once wrote the 45 lessons life taught me. It is the most-requested column I’ve ever written. My odometer rolled over to 90 in August, so here is the column once more:
